NOTAP, Defence Space Administration Seek Partnership on Local Content

The National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) and Defence Space Administration (DSA) are exploring strategic collaboration on local content development.

This is coming as a 7 man delegation from the Defence Space Administration visited NOTAP office in Abuja.

Welcoming the delegation, Dr. DanAzumi Mohammed Ibrahim, Director General of NOTAP, commended the management of Defence Space Administration for the initiative to visit NOTAP which he said is in line with the thinking of the present administration meant to foster partnerships especially amongst research-based organizations for local content addition.

Dr. Ibrahim reiterated the need for strategic partnerships and sharing of ideas amongst institutions in the country noting that it would help the nation leapfrog into the comity of advanced nations of the world.

The leader of the delegation, Air Vice Marshal M. N Madi said as a new institution, the visit is necessitated by the need to work closely with reputable Stakeholders like NOTAP to source valuable scientific knowledge for the progress of the DSA.

The Defence Space Administration was established by the Federal Government in 2016 to create a robust indigenous space competence that is capable of producing and utilizing space assets to meet the operational requirements of the Nigerian Armed Forces.

The visit to NOTAP by officials of the DSA is expected to generate a strong partnership that will lead to the strengthening of locally based military research and development (R&D) activities for the overall development of the nation.
