Dr. DanAzumi Mohammed Ibrahim, Director General, National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP) was amongst recipients of the 2016 Arewa Inspirational Leadership Award.

The award, according to Mallam Ibrahim Suleiman, President of Hope Arewa Development Initiative (HADI), was in recognition of the sterling leadership qualities exhibited by Dr. Ibrahim since he assumed office as the Chief Executive of NOTAP.

He attributed the huge savings of about N188.2billion to the Nigerian economy through interventions in technology transfer agreements and the establishment of 39 Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Offices (IPTTOs) to promote patent culture amongst researchers which has helped to bridge the gap between Research & Industry as indications of a clear vision and prudent leadership by Dr. Ibrahim.

Mallam Suleiman also stressed that the efforts being made by NOTAP to create sustainable opportunities for the youths especially through the local vendor programme aimed at assisting the nation in building capacity for software development is highly recognized by HADI due to its potentials to create jobs for the youths.

These accomplishments according to him are a result of the exceptional leadership drive by Dr. Ibrahim which is a great inspirational to Arewa Youths.

Other notable Nigerians who were also honored by HADI include the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai and a member of the Senate, Senator Shehu Sani amongst others.
