Nokia Solutions and Networks has appointed Salvatore Maisano (known as Sal) as head of Central East and West Africa (CEWA).
Previously, he was Head of Sales for MEA at NSN. Sal has held a number of senior management positions in the ICT industry, including Head of China and Far East at OTE/Marconi (now Selex).
Igor Leprince, senior vice president, MEA, NSN, said: "We welcome Sal to Africa. Sal is a senior leader in the ICT industry.
With his strong track record in international sales and operations, I am confident that he will drive our ambitious plans across the CEWA region."
Sal joined Nokia in February 1999 from OTE/Marconi, where he was heading China and the Far East region, based out of Beijing.
He started his career in R&D and has developed a truly international career, leading global accounts, sales and operations across Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia Pacific, China and India.
Born in Italy, Sal holds an M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics from the University Of Florence, Italy.
