NTDC Unveils Navigational Phone Map

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, director general of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has said that until tourism is improved in Nigeria with the use of technological advancement, it will not generate huge revenue for the nation like it does in some other countries.

  The DG stated this in Abuja during the unveiling of the navigational phone map.

  He explained that the map can be downloaded from any phone via blue tooth and this will help tourists coming into Nigeria find their way easily.

He said the e-mapping is for the 36 states of the federation and FCT; also, the street map contains all the banks, hotels, hospital nearest to the user at any given time of the day.

  The DG who stressed that the e-map is free to all Nigerians and the tourists also revealed that NTDC is set to bringing more innovations in the country adding that the they will soon launch a dives that will contain all the tourist destinations in the country.

  Otunba Runsewe stressed that the Nigerian tourism sector needs to be brought up to match international best practices.

  He advised the federal government to ensure that streets in the country stays up to 120 years before it could be changed as obtainable in western worlds. According to him, “street names should not be changed often as it creates confusion in maps”.

Also, Otunba Runsewe has thrown his full support towards the hosting of the on coming national conference of Business and Professional Women Association of Nigeria .

The NTDC boss who received the women delegation led by Mrs. Tinuade Ihama its president  said “Life starts with women” and commended their courage for coming fort to partner with his agency.
