NUTAF 2019 brings Flamboyance Back to Nigerian Theatres

The festival themed "Theater Governance and Globalization" explored different angles of theatre through drama, music, poetry, comedy, dance, and many more. It was a show of flamboyance and a colorful display of cultures from across Nigeria.

The week-long activities commenced with a carnival procession from the representatives of various universities. It was indeed a sight to behold.

Following the procession, the baton was officially handed over to Lagos State University (LASU), the hosts for this year's special edition. To formally open the festival, the hosts entertained the audience to a wonderful performance.

NUTAF has supported thespians and produced a crop of Nigeria's most remarkable actors and actresses, including Richard Mofe-Damijo, Hilda Dokubo, Segun Arinze and Julius Agwu among others who are veterans of past editions of the festival.

The festival was supported by the MTN Foundation as part of its Arts and Culture causes through which it has sponsored some of Nigeria’s most compelling art, poetry and theatre productions.
