OIIE Holds StartUP Nigeria in Lagos Today

StartUP Nigeria takes place today, August 19th, 2017 at the Admiralty Conference Centre, Naval Dockyard Complex, Wilmot Point, Ahmad Bello Way, Victoria Island.

The event, an offshoot of StartUp Friday is the brainchild of the Office for ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship (OIIE), fully backed by the National Information Development Agency (NITDA).

StartUP Nigeria is a “meet-up” designed to bridge the gap that exists among startups, investors, mentors, buyers and other players in the Nigerian ICT ecosystem.

According to the Organisers, A key feature of this Lagos edition is the pitching competition with awesome prizes and funding to be won. Also there will be Ideation pitch (Elevator pitch) where you get to pitch your innovative ideas for free. Like other events organised by OIIE — a special purpose vehicle established under NITDA to drive ICT innovation & entrepreneurship across Nigeria– this event promises to be fun and impactful.

OIIE is a special purpose vehicle established under National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to drive ICT innovation and entrepreneurship across the country to increase job creation, wealth creation and national competitiveness within Nigeria through policies, initiatives and programs that will assist tech startups to establish successful businesses.

The aim is to use programs like StartUP Nigeria and policies to address the challenges that are inhibiting the growth of entrepreneurs, as well as create enabling environments to foster innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.
