The Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) which is on a mission to help address Africa’s infrastructure development needs while seeking a competitive return on capital for its shareholders has announced high powered delegates will attend its inaugural summit coming up in Lagos.

AFC which seeks to foster economic growth and industrial development of African countries shall play host to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, coordinating minister of Finance and Economy (Nigeria), Mr Tony Elumelu, chairman of Heirs Holdings and Prof. Chinedu Nebo, minister of Power, Nigeria.

Others are Hon. Patrick Achi, minister of Economic Infrastructure, Côte d'Ivoire, Hon. Cristina Duarte, minister of Finance, Cape Verde, Mr Jim Yong Cai, executive vice president and chief executive officer, International Finance Corporation, Ms. Diana Layfield, chief executive officer, (Africa), Standard Chartered Bank, Dr. Nkosana Moyo, Mandela Institute for Development Studies and Ms. Funke Opeke, chief executive officer, Main One Company.

The Summit tagged “AFC Live: Bridging Infrastructural Divide”, seeks to address the scale of Africa's infrastructure requirements and investment deficit and comes up on Tuesday 25th March 2014 at Eko Hotel.

The Summit will bring together African politicians, business leaders and academics for a series of lively panel discussions.

Confirmed speakers include: Jim O’Neill, the economist and former Chairman of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, best known for coining the ‘BRIC’ and ‘MINT’ acronyms, as well as Mr. Adebayo Ogunlesi, among others.

National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) has cancelled the Certificate of Registration of NICON Insurance Company Limited (RIC-049), and has appointed Chukwuma-Machukwu Ume, Senior Advocate of Nigeria, as receiver/provisional liquidator of the company.
