Omatek Launches Smartbook, Tickles Students

Omatek Computers has treated Private Secondary school students to a fun-filled, exciting, educative and highly interactive event: “Omatek Reloaded,” which took place at the Dowen College hall, Lekki, and had students from over 30 Private secondary schools in attendance.
According to Florence Seriki, group managing director, Omatek Ventures Plc, the event was organized as a way of sowing seeds to enhance IT penetration in secondary schools while improving students’ motivation using technology to aid teaching and learning through interactive methods.
She added that as a way of encouraging students to develop more interest in self-learning, the company has bundled the e-learning software with its 8inch smartbook designed specifically for the education sector.
Students were excited with the new Omatek 8inch smartbook launched at the event, which comes with learning essentials and Encarta with which they can learn at their own pace and undertake independent self appraisals.
The ‘Omatek Reloaded’ is a catch-them-young platform through which the company empowers and invests in the intellectual, physiological and psychological development of students, recognizing that information technology literacy and proficiency in the use of IT tools have become essential to acquiring and managing knowledge efficiently.
Valentino Fajemisin of Edidot College Lekki won the star prize of Omatek 8inch smartbook for the raffle draw while Dayo Adebola of the KKB Kids also went home with an 8inch smartbook for displaying his dancing skills. Monica Ugwu of Corona Secondary School, Agbara, Lagos also won a DVD player in the teachers’ category.
The Omatek 8 inch smartbook is conceived and built specifically with the Nigerian youth in mind. It is equipped with an inbuilt camera, 8” screen, 512 GB RAM, 60 GB Hard disk space and 3-dimensional WiFi capability.
The Omatek 10 inch smartbook is equipped 10 inch flat screen, 1GB RAM, 60GB hard drive capacity and a robust WiFi coverage of over 50 Meters.
