Omatek Group, a local original equipment manufacturer of computer systems and other ICT products, has restrategies for a new year with the launch of solar system for small businesses.
Mrs. Florence Seriki, group managing director, Omatek Group, said the 1 KVA – 6 KVA solar inverters with panels are targeting at small businesses and homes whose energy consumption is small.
“These small solar panels for small entrepreneurs such as saloons, shops and homes are alternative to 2.5 KVA generators that most of these small entrepreneurs are using with its attendant noise discomfort among others,” she said.
The launch of the small solar panels and inverters is in addition to the first range of UPS, inverters and solar PV panels that are 100 per cent compatible with Nigeria’s environmental conditions, the company launched some years back. The power solutions were made in partnership with China’s based Kehua Group.
The energy solutions form part of a green energy package that the Nigerian technology company unveiled for homes, corporate Nigeria, the education and telecom sectors to address the rising energy needs.
She reiterated the commitment of her company to e-learning scheme as the tablets and notebooks have been manufactured with inbuilt curriculum of the children.
It would be recalled that Omatek Computers expanded the opportunity of acquiring computers with the e-learning scheme that makes it easier and more affordable for Nigerians to own computers.
The scheme would provide a platform to ensure that Information and Communications Technology (ICT) tools are deployed to class rooms under a carefully structured learning environment equipped with internet connectivity to create a virtual connection between students and teachers.
“With this development, Omatek is ready to give adequate support to computer for students’ initiative of the federal government through the ministry of communications technology,” Seriki said.
The initiative was launched recently by the Minister to create a platform for Nigerian students to acquire laptops at reasonable prices and also create market opportunities for Omatek brands.
The e-leaning scheme involves the deployment of a robust content and curriculum as well as monitoring and evaluation modules to ensure seamless implementation under which students can explore educational contents under guidance by tutors that make the learning experience an exciting and cost effective one.
The Omatek e-Learning scheme is powered by the Omatek e-Xpress Initiative conceived in 2004 to ensure easy access to computer systems without the challenges of affordability.
The initiative is a flexible computer acquisition and payment scheme which enables beneficiaries to pay for any computer of their choice through a structured payment plan.
The Omatek eLearning scheme has been divided into modules called laptop for learning module (L4L); and a homogenous platform where the practice of teaching and learning can enjoy intervention by the introduction of IT tools required to create an e-learning environment across schools.
Components that make up the L4L module include Hardware, Software, Content, Training, Monitoring & Evaluation, Connectivity and the Establishment of Resource Centres and Capacity Building.
“For the scheme to cater for all categories of individuals and sector groupings, the scheme is designed to be effective irrespective of social status. The Omatek e-Xpress initiative comes with a huge funding support from our partnering banks and consists of e- Consumer, e – mobile, e- tertiary, and e- youth,” Seriki said.
She explained that to properly harness the requirements within the education space, the scheme was further restructured to capture the education sector with the other sectors falling within the e-mobile and e-consumer space.
“The new e-Xpress scheme will be sub-divided into the e-learning initiative, the e-mobile, and the e-consumer all targeted towards public civil servants, teachers, lecturers, teachers, students, corporate executives, corporate organisations, educational institutions, SME’s and other citizens to acquire computers through a convenient and structured payment plan which spans 12 – 24 months,” she said.
