Less than 24 hours after winning the first Zain/Nigezie TRU Search in Nigerian Universities and Polytechnics, Contest winner, David Oramali, is already being pointed in the path of success in the entertainment industry with an opportunity to share the stage with music acts.

Oramali was given a rare chance to join on stage such musical giants as P-Square, Nigga Raw, DJ Kenny from Jamaica and FS2 by the giant telecom company and the entertainment TV production company after dusting other contestants in Enugu.

For the 300-level Estate Management undergraduate of Nnmadi Azikiwe University who described himself as an ordinary guy who loves to use his strong vocal skills to wow the youthful crowd, the Zain TRU Concert provided a perfect opportunity to taste the high tempo world of stage performance.

Indeed, the guitarist and vocalist seize the moment, mesmerising and pushing the crowd made up mainly of students down the cliff of excitement with an uncommon bold and daring lyrics and electrifying dance steps.

The young winner showed no trace of fear, anxiety or tension stepping on the stage to perform a track jointly recorded backstage some minutes before the concert with P-Square and Nigga Raw. With a rather humble swagger, Oramali clawed the microphone and took a more central position on stage as he sang with energy, passion and excitement; proving that he has what it takes to make the crowd bounce.

Amazed at his confidence and unique style, Nigga Raw stepped two steps away, deputising as a back-up artiste while smiles played on the lips of Paul and Peter Okoye (P-Square) as they watched a promising undergraduate sing from a heart on fire.

According to Wole Abu, trade marketing officer, South East Region, Zain Nigeria, apart from sharing the stage with top Nigerian artistes, Oramali will be rewarded only with a five-star makeover, and will have the privilege of having his song included in Zain’s Central Station Mix Tape Compact Disc featuring some of Nigeria’s biggest artistes and distributed as a promotional item around Nigeria. The track is guaranteed a good air play on Nigezie platform which reaches million of homes in Nigeria and the in many countries in Africa.

Oramali was not the only Tru Search talent that had an opportunity to perform on stage. Female, Rhythm and Blues Sensation, J’Des, the first runner up and energetic singer, I. Q, second runner up had their day on stage as both were handed a chance to demonstrate to a crowd of over 400 youths what they are capable of doing with the microphone.

Both runners up are National Diploma One student of Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu.

Zain TRU Search is an extension of the launch of Zain’s youth package, TRU Offer, a truly innovative product designed to suite the lifestyle, needs and aspiration of Nigerian youths and the young-at-heart, offering amazingly low tariff from Monday through Friday and at weekends as well as free night calls.

Zain TRU Search is collaboration between Zain and Nigezie designed to discover and develop musically talented students who are then offered a platform to showcase their lyrical, vocal and disc jockeying skills first in front of respected judges and a vast television audience and then on stage with popular music acts.
