Oriental Energy Resources, a private oil & gas exploration and production company in Nigeria has signed a business contract with Phase3 Telecom, an indigenous Aerial Fibre Optic transmission company for the provision of broadband connectivity.

Ajibade Momolosho, director of Engineering and chief technical officer of Phase3 Telecom said: “the global demand for oil and gas has caused rapid expansion and investment in every aspect of the sector and the communications system is not left out.

The oil industry as a whole recognizes the need for improved and effective communications networks which Phase 3 will be delivery to Oriental Energy. Fibre Optic installation is a key component of the expansion.

Phase3 Telecom’s robust and reliable Open Access Network allows oil companies leverage the advantages offered by Fibre Optic cables while improving operational performance and accuracy.

Fibre Optic networks for oil & gas serve as links for data, control and for monitoring sensors.

As the need for more sophisticated Fibre Optic networks develop in West Africa, Phase3 Telecom remains on the leading edge in the customization of cables to provide the oil industry specific cabling requirement, durability in harsh environments and an improved data analysis.”

Oriental Energy Resources is not the only oil & Gas Company that has taken this pivotal leap in Nigeria, Gunvor Nigeria has also invested in the state-of-the-art ICT systems to ensure its global business strategies and initiatives are supported in an efficient and secure manner.

Gunvor Nigeria has a business partnership with Phase3 Telecom for reliable broadband transmission via Phase3 Telecom’s robust and reliable Open Access Network.

Fibre Optic technology has been with us for a long while and has by now proved its superiority.

Fibre Optic networks offer so many advantages among which  is the capacity to carry far more information than any copper cable - a virtue of the highest importance in an age where the flow of data transmission has increased from a trickle to a torrent.

Other advantages include low transmission loss, security - data carried by Fibre Optic cables are practically immune to detection, and safety Fibre Optic cables will not and cannot produce sparks.

Fibre Optic cables, a proven technology for transoceanic communications, can provide offshore oil companies with terabyte communications bandwidth required for their operations.

Since the first transatlantic cable was laid, Fibre Optics have increasingly taken over as the medium of choice for long-distance telecommunications and, with the ever increasing demand for bandwidth from Internet users, Fibre Optic broadband is expanding closer and closer to the home and businesses.
