Technology in Government Summit/Expo is Nigeria’s largest public sector technology event bringing together thousands of top government functionaries, senior government leaders, IT professionals across the various tiers of government: Executive, Legislature and Judiciary; industry partners, exhibitors and stakeholders.

The Summit/Expo is holding in Abuja Nicon Luxury Hotel, 13-15th April, 2016.

Raphael Omosola, national president NITPCS, indicated that this summit/expo is part of IT professionals in Government strategic actions to back the PMB change Agenda. Therefore this years summit/expo theme is Information Technology: The Enabling and Veritable Tool To Deliver "Change" in Governance

The Summit/Expo combines a high level conference with large scale exhibition, bringing together senior public sector leaders, Technology Leaders, IT professionals and Experts to "learn, connect and solve”. It provides a platform to source for tested and adaptable solutions for the ongoing Change Agenda within government

The Summit/Expo is supported by amongst others Federal Ministry of Communications, Galaxy backbone Plc, NITDA, Federal Ministry of Science and Technology, NIGCOMSAT, NCC and endorsed by Nigeria Computer Society and Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria.

High profile Speakers for the summit are drawn from both the public and private sectors showcasing an array of Federal Honourable Ministers and Permanent Secretaries, Heads of Federal/State Departments/Agencies, State Commissioners and Permanent Secretaries and Industry Experts.

NITPCS President disclosed that Issues that matter most to government covering the following areas: Security and Protection of Key National Information Infrastructures, Delivering stream lined services 24x7 in an on demand society, Developing Smart government, Enabling the strategic use of ICT to deliver on policy and effective governance, Engender Innovation and disruptive technologies, Engaging openly to build and leverage knowledge and foster collaboration, Revenue Assurance and Taxation, Enabling Strategic use of ICT to deliver free and fair elections, Government IT Spending: doing more with less, Intellectual Property and Cybercrime Issues in Government, Treasury Single Account (TSA): Operation and Myth - Technology Enablers,

Government Integrated Financial Management System (GIFMIS) and Integrated Personnel and Payroll Management System (IPPIS) and Nigeria ICT Policies: Impact on government IT Service delivery.

These, he said, will be addressed with thought leadership presentations and panel discussions tailored around topics such as "Enabling IT Professionals in Government to Deliver value to Government: The crux of the matter.”, Common Core Infrastructure and Solutions throughout Government – Interconnected, User-Driven and Lean, Radically Reimagining Critical National Infrastructure Protection and Citizen Safety via ICT, Technology Standardisation in Government a panacea for cost reduction and efficient  Service Delivery, The Application of Government Integrated  Financial Management Information System (GIFMIS) and Integrated Personnel and Payrol

Information System (IPPIS) in a revamped Public Sector - technology enablers, Assessing the Power of Big Data and Analytics in Nigeria: Citizen Data - creating Value and Delivering better Services, Telecommunications Regulations and efficient Government Service Delivery, Treasury Single Account (TSA): Operation and Myth - Technology Enablers and Governance, Making Tax Digital for Enhanced Revenue, Nigerian Laws on Access & Security of Data on Government Networks
