Otule Becomes IT Director @ Zain Nigeria
Zain Nigeria, leading mobile operator, has announced the appointment of Otuyemi Otule, as its new Information Technology (IT) Director. Otuyemi, Nigerian, joined ZAIN Nigeria in January 2009.
Prior to his appointment, Otule was the company’s IT Demand & Portfolio Management Manager.
He replaces Hamid Husain, the erstwhile IT Director, a Pakistani national, who left the company recently to pursue other interests.
Announcing the appointment, Alain Sainte-Marie, chief executive officer of Zain Nigeria, explained that it was part of the company’s strategic plan to develop and empower indigenous talent for leadership positions.
According to Sainte-Marie, “this is another demonstration of Zain’s commitment to promoting from within vibrant Nigerians with the right leadership capabilities and a demonstrable track record of excellent performance identified through the company’s Talent Management and Leadership Development processes”.

Otule has the right kind of experience and competence to lead the company in the great task of building a world class network capable of delivering the highest quality of service to our customers”, he stated.
In his new role, Otule will be responsible for the Zain Nigeria’s IT Security, Application Services, Demand and Portfolio Management, strategic IT programmes, Operational Initiatives and IT Infrastructure.
Otule joined Zain Nigeria on this year with over 16 years of IT experience as business technologist and strategist. Prior to joining Zain Nigeria, he worked with Deloitte Management Consulting, Dublin where he succeeded in increasing project recoveries by over 60% within a year of take over.
He also worked in Vision Consulting, Dublin, Wadof Consulting, Lagos and Andersen Consulting Lagos in varying capacities. He holds an MBA (Strategy, Finance and General Management) from the University of Chicago and also has an M.Sc (Masters in Science degree) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
