Payair, leading provider of mobile payments in Sweden, has signed a partner agreement with an experienced Swiss-Italian payment service industry team.
Payair South Europe will serve as the branded provider of Payairs’ suite of mobile payment solutions in Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
The initial deal is worth 10 million Euros.
Payairs’ leading suite of mobile payment solutions is now being rolled out in the southern European market. Payair South Europe will serve as the branded provider in Switzerland, Italy, France, Spain and Portugal.
With the Payair solution, the retail industry and customers in southern Europe can enjoy a quicker, safe mobile shopping experience, with benefits such as personalized customer and loyalty opportunities from the merchants.
This is the first comprehensive mobile payment solution in these markets that adds real value to the buying experience, with features like self-checkout and self-pays in less than 10 seconds.
Payair South Europe is based in Geneva, a strategic financial and trading hub for the markets to be addressed by Payair.
Pierpaolo Griffa has been appointed CEO of the new Company.
“We all know that the mobile payments industry is still experiencing high fragmentation of different services and solutions covering vertical and/or local markets. We also know that we are approaching the time when there will be a few global players that have the scale and resources to serve large customers and the mass market whose requirements can be readily satisfied by standard solutions”, said Pierpaolo Griffa, CEO Payair South Europe.
Griffa added ”We see Payair as a unique provider of mobile payment global solutions. In this respect, the extension of Payair services into the South Europe markets is key to a worldwide reach out after the recent and successful launch of Payair in the United States and Middle East. The richness of the services we offer, going far beyond the mere payment transaction, the easiness of the full-stack payment platform Payair developed to specifically make payment integration easy for merchant and processors, and the aggressive international strategy, enabling strong worldwide synergies, will make the difference.”
“This agreement is a breakthrough for Payair Technologies, which gives us a good partner in such important markets as Italy, Spain and France,” said Staffan Ljung, CEO of Payair.
He said that “It is a great recognition for our leading mobile payment solution to have such an experienced Swiss-Italian team invest in the commercialization of Payairs’ technology across several markets. This team will continue our strategic focus towards offering a better shopping experience with our mobile payment solutions in southern Europe”.
