Nowadays, each one of us carries very high end or latest mobile devices, but not without fears that it may be stolen. Last weekend, a friend, Mr. Olusegun McMedal, the founder of Upticom Media drew my attention to some pieces of information trending on social media regarding safeguarding one’s mobile phone before they are lost.

He said, “Hello Friend, I just got this valuable info which may be useful to you too...If you lose your mobile phone in this world you can get it back. Got an interesting fact to share…”

“Each mobile carries a unique IMEI number, that is, International Mobile Equipment Identity No which can be used to track your mobile anywhere in the world”.

This is how it works!!

1. Dial *#06# from your mobile.

2. Your mobile shows a unique 15 digit.

3. Note down this number anywhere, except in your mobile as this is the Number which will help trace your mobile phone in case of a theft.

4. Once stolen you just have to E-mail this 15 digit IMEI number to [email protected] with detail Mentioned below:

Your name:

Address:

Phone model:

Make:

Last used No.:

E-mail for communication:

Missed date:

IMEI No:

6. Your Mobile will be traced within next 24 hrs via a complex system of General packet radio service (GPRS) and internet, you will find where your hand-set is being operated even in case your number is being changed.

Finally, pass on this very important message to all your TRUSTED friends and relatives.
