Proclaim360 Communication Company, a communications service provider, has announced its success in securing the most coveted license to rollout a nationwide iBurst Broadband Wireless Access network.
According to a press statement by the company, Mr. Alan Tapfumaneyi, CEO of Proclaim360, stated that the iBurst technology is a 3.9G spectrum manufactured by Japan’s leading telecommunication company Kyocera and sets Nigeria on course to the next generation telecommunication revolution.
“iBurst is a revolutionary high impact technology which delivers consistent 4G performance to thousands of users simultaneously. We are launching the most advanced broadband wireless technologies in the world. It is at best ‘disruptive’ in terms of market positioning,” he said.
Proclaim360 is planning to deploy the iBurst network across the country very aggressively as it seeks to fulfill the unsatisfied demand for broadband connectivity and Internet bandwidth. The iBurst technology has been successfully implemented in South Africa, Malaysia, Ghana, USA, East Africa, Canada and a number of Eastern European countries. The technology can deliver true broadband connectivity giving users an unparalleled Internet experienced. Users in Nigeria can expect to get the fastest Internet connectivity on the market today once the network is complete.
iBurst boasts of 2Mbps bandwidth speeds with consistent quality which does not deteriorate as more users get on the network. Proclaim360 expects the introduction of 4Mbps terminals by the end of 2010.
The Proclaim360’s CEO added that “what makes iBurst unique is that it offers users robust connection, quality of service and guaranteed minimum speed thresholds. It is a truly mobile solution giving users the ability to connect while on the move and opening up whole new avenues of data connectivity usage. Applications such as surveillance, drone traffic monitoring systems and mobile POS terminals are all possible and limited by the imagination of the market.
The statement added that unlike the EVDO, WiMAX, EDGE and HSPA, (3G), the technology is built to support more than 2000 users per base station and multiple base stations can be deployed in the same spot. This is especially important to absorb the high density of people in metropolitan area such as Lagos. Another advantage the technology has over existing networks is, the frequency utilized by the system is sitting in the ‘sweet-spot’ of the radio spectrum; low enough to penetrate building and obstacles but high enough to carry a large amount of data.
Mr. Akifumi Uenishi from Kyocera, Proclaim360’s technical partners said, “We would like to express our hopeful zeal to work on tackling one of the most competitive and complicated markets in the world.”
iBurst is expected to offer Nigeria the same rapid development in data communication that GSM brought to voice communication. The company plans to begin the rollout of the network this first quarter of 2010 and is in the advanced stages of negotiations with a leading ISP to join forces in the deployment of this new and exciting technology.
Proclaim360 Communications Limited is a fully incorporated Nigerian company specifically set up to execute iBurst in the country. The company has the vision to offer superior communications, skills and applications of the appropriate technology available in the industry and with iBurst, is set to push the frontiers of Internet in Nigeria.
