Telecommunications subscribers have urged service providers to improve their quality of services provisioning before jostling for their souls with some of the promotional offers, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek can report.

The subscribers also wondered why the operators should be allowed to roll out promos, some of them ridiculous when the quality of services they are providing are worsening.

Speaking under the aegis of National Association Telecommunications Subscribers (Natcoms), the subscribers called for more protection from regulatory authorities.

Chief Adeolu Ogunbanjo, president, Natcoms said there has been more promos by this year than any other year since the telecommunications revolution and urged the authorities to scrutinize every promo being offered to subscribers.

Ogunbanjo who was speaking at the Association’s first national Summit held in Lagos over the weekend, also noted that although competition forms part of the telecom business, operators must also improve their infrastructure to reduce the incidences of dropped calls.

An all out promo war has broken among the services providers as they bait subscribers with some offers too tempting to let go.
