Red Star Commends Customers, Unveils Logo
Red Star Express, a leading Nigerian franchisee of U.S global courier Brand, Federal Express (FedEx), last week commenced its twentieth anniversary celebrations, kicking off with a strategic unveiling of the anniversary logo in Lagos.
Red Star commenced business operation in Nigeria in 1992 with sixty operational outlets and barely 100 staff, but has grown to become a multi-billion naira business, serving the entire nation and beyond with over one thousand five hundred direct employees and 158 offices.
Sule Bichi, Managing Director and CEO attributed the growth to its steady customer focus.
He stated that: “We are truly humbled by our growth as a company over the past twenty years. We attribute the growth to our resolve as a logistics company to remain customer focused at all times, offering not just logistics services but also peace of mind through quality and innovative services that deliver real solutions to our customers.
He stated that the last 20 years has been a worthwhile journey with its customers and stakeholders.
“With Red Star Express, we are not building just a business; we are building a legacy that will outlive us. Our vision is that the company will remain strong after we are gone. So at 20, we are just getting started; we are still young. In our tradition of constantly improving on our achievements, we have continued to upgrade our ISO certification which we first got in 2002 when we were first certified by Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON),” said Bichi.
Nigeria CommunicationsWeek reports that Red Star has the ISO 9001: 2008 certification, while its management looks further to an upgrade status.
Subsequently, it lined up several staff engagement activities to celebrate its 20th anniversary is well celebrated. These activities include charity work that will involve the entire staff of the company, distribution of anniversary merchandises to customer all over Nigeria, launch of a book on the history of the company, public lecture, staff and customer awards and companywide party.
“All over the nation, our offices will be decorated to reflect the celebratory mood of the company during the months of celebration and the grand finale will be celebrated on the 12th of October, 2012.” added Bichi.
The company established three subsidiaries in 2007 – Red Star Support Services Ltd, Red Star Freight and Red Star Logistics as a deliberate corporate expansion programme.
