Red Star Express, the leading courier and logistics solution provider in Nigeria, has reaffirmed its commitment to satisfying its clients and customers by adding several new operational vehicles to its fleet to improve service and response time.
According to Muyiwa Olumekun, the executive director, Sales and Marketing, the new vehicles are also better equipped to ensure the security of packages, make response time faster , improve the speed to market and ensure the success of the new services offered by the company. One of such services is the 24 hour Point to Point (P2P) delivery services to destinations in Africa such as Accra in Ghana, Nairobi in Kenya and Johannesburg in South Africa.
“In every thing we do at Red Star Express, the customers come first. We always seek for ways to continually impact positively on the business processes of our numerous clients and one of such ways is the additional vehicles we invested in. It is also very necessary for the business and network expansion,” Olumekun noted.
Although he also noted that the cost of doing business generally in the country is sky-rocketing because of the high costs of some services that the courier and logistics industry depends on, such as the cost of providing power supply and constant hike in aviation fuel, he however stated that no matter what, Red Star Express is determined to ensure better services for its numerous customers.
The company procured 20 new Toyota Corolla 2008 model cars and 35 new Honda City 2008 model cars which had since been distributed around the country. Earlier in the year, the company procured 20 and 30 tonnes-long vehicles to compliment the logistic arm of its business.
The company has three other subsidiaries that are guaranteed to enhance customer satisfaction and provide other range of services. They include; Red Star Logistics Ltd. is the Ground Trucking and Haulage services arm with a fleet of 10, 20 and 30 tonnes heavy-duty trucks delivering shipments across Nigeria.
The second one, Red Star Freight Ltd. handles air and sea freighting of private and commercial heavyweights, clearing and forwarding as well as packaging and removal services, while the Red Star Support Services Ltd is the outsourcing arm providing human capital and facilities for the banking, oil & gas and the multi-national institutions.
Other areas of coverage include archival management and vehicle pool management services.
Red Star Express Plc, a licensee of FedEx in Nigeria is the biggest indigenous air express company in the country. The company began operation in 1992 with the mission to be the most dynamic, innovative and responsive express Delivery Company in Nigeria. This is in conjunction with the FedEx People - Service Profit philosophy.
