Resourcery Hosts Digital Security Experts on New Trends & New Threats

Resourcery Plc, West Africa’s foremost Information Technology Company, in conjunction with Cisco Systems, a global leader in network technology and solutions held a one-day interactive Cyber-security seminar in Lagos with the theme ‘New Trends, New Threats’.

The seminar ‘New Trends, New Threats’ afforded organizers the opportunity to share their thoughts on how best to appreciate the growing influence and associated challenges of ICT in our business environment with Cyber security experts.

Adewale Oniyide, data security solutions manager for Resourcery, in his opening remark, stated that “in this ever-changing technology world, Businesses and organizations need to be contextual, with the ‘who, how, what, where and when’ across their Network. This is so required for the understanding of their security posture especially with the increase in Cyber-attacks and breaches. However, with the New Cisco Security Architecture Roadmap:

“The Attack Continuum, organizations now have the benefit to understand Before, During and After an attack and how organizations can use the retrospective technology to contain and remediate resources and ensure that all services are brought back to normal operation within a short time frame.”

Babacar Wagne, system engineer, Security for Cisco West Africa, continued with presentations on ‘Cisco Security Architecture and Roadmap: The Attack Continuum’ and ‘Fire Power Services on ASA Platforms’, While focus on ‘Highlights of New Technology; Trends & Threats’ and ‘Cisco Identity Services Engine’ was being handled by Adewale Oniyide.

Some of the salient points also raised was the influence of IoT influence in the business model and the need to prepare for what has been dubbed as the “IoT Tsunami”.

Therefore, businesses  are advised to deploy Security Solutions like the Cisco Identity Services Engine to ensure that they be abreast of changes affecting their Network Security posture with the ability to remediate and go back to normal operation when a breach occurs.
