Retiree Wins BMW Car in Glo ‘Win & Rule’

A retiree of the Nigerian Law School, Mr. Oluwamuyiwa Okanlawon has won a brand new BMW 3 Series at the Abuja edition of the Bigger and Easier Glo Win & Rule promo draw held at the Old Parade Ground.
Mr. Okanlawon could not hide his excitement when his number flashed on the huge screen as winner of the star prize of the night. He was one of the lucky winners in the promo, packaged by Globacom to reward its subscribers nationwide for their loyalty to the network.  
Another winner, Mr. Elere Seun, who won a brand new Peugeot 307XT car said he saw the car as a refreshing reward by Glo for his loyalty to the network.
Mr. Seun also could not hide his excitement when his number emerged on the screen as the winner of a brand new Peugeot 307 at the draw.
“This car is compensation. Last year, I was duped by some people who sent a message to me that I won something but after taking my money, I discovered that there was no promo like that by Globacom. When I received the text about this promo, I almost disregarded it but I decided to participate because nobody asked me to bring any money and see how God works”, he said.
For Mrs. Kemi Agbolade, who won a Kia Rio car at the draw, but for mother luck, she would have left the venue of the draw minutes before her number emerged as the winning number for one of the Kia Rio on offer that night.
Agbolade who rushed to the stage when her number was read out by the popular female comedian, Lepacious Bose, explained that she was tempted twice to leave the venue of the draw but held back.
“I am so lucky today. I was about leaving this place when I saw my number on the screen. Before now, I had wanted to leave this place twice, but I don’t know what held me back. The spirit was just telling me to wait till they draw all the prizes. I thank Globacom for this gift”, she added.
Mr. Adeniran Ganiyu, a cement dealer in Abuja could not hold back his tears as he emerged winner of a brand new Kia Rio to replace his old car.  
Ganiyu, who knelt down in ecstasy, said he never believed that the promo was real but still came all the same to see how things would unfold, he thanked Globacom for empowering Nigerians in all walks of life.
Other winners at the draw included Mr. Olusola Abiodun, Peugeot 307XT; Izuchukwu Emeka, 5KVA generator, Friday Odeamiren, generator, Mrs. Sade Gold Toluhi, motorcycle and Alabi Olukunle Ezekiel, motorcycle.

MTN mPulse Spelling Bee Crowns Seven Regional Champions in Enugu

It was a display of brilliance and composure as young Nigerians, aged 9 to 15, showcased their spelling prowess in the Enugu regional final of the MTN mPulse Spelling Bee on Saturday, November 1, 2025, held at the International Conference Centre, Enugu. After an electrifying one-hour showdown among 20 contestants, seven young spellers earned the right to compete in the grand finale in Lagos.

These excited champions, Nelson Ede Chidubem, Praise Ihionu, Emeka Nwaokocha Samuel, Treasure Oyibosu, Michelle Atanu Ufedo, Munachimso Onyemaechi, and Oyingba Douglas-Naingba, have been presented with their tags for the grand finale and will advance to Lagos, where they will join other regional winners to contend for the national title.

As part of the event, gift vouchers were presented to children and parents through questions and answers, adding a festive touch to the competition.

In his remarks, Honourable Emeka Nelson Nwagbo, Senior Special Adviser on Youth Mobilisation, Enugu West, said, “This initiative has not only encouraged academic excellence but also inspired our young leaders to pursue knowledge with confidence and pride. To the organisers, teachers, parents, and participants, thank you for making this event a success. Your dedication and support have truly made today memorable.

Once again, we say a big thank you to MTN Nigeria. We are happy that the brand is working in line with the vision of the Governor concerning smart schools. We look forward to more collaborations that will continue to empower our kids and youths,” he concluded.
