Samsung Pledges Commitment to Nigerians

Samsung Electronics is giving away Samsung Olympic medals and numerous Samsung products in its Olympics Go-For-Gold promo and the ‘Text-A-Guess Promo as a way of affirming their position in the global market.

Mr. James You, managing director, Samsung Nigeria, disclosed this at the media launch of the initiatives in Lagos, last week.

He said "here in Nigeria, the 2-in-1 Samsung Olympics Promotions consist of the Text-A-Guess promo which entails the general public to share in the spirit of the games and win medals and Samsung product prizes by sending their predicted winners of 3 key events – football, boxing and 100 meters sprint; and the Samsung Olympics Go-For-Gold promo which will enable consumers of Samsung products – from mobile phones to consumer electronics and ICT devices – share in the Olympics spirit and win Samsung Olympic medals and product prizes".

Also speaking at the event was Charles Uwa Omoregha, marketing manager, Samsung Nigeria, who said "only buyers of Samsung products are eligible for the Samsung Olympics Go-For-Gold promo and they are to text the word ‘Samsung’, their names, phone number, state of residence, the item bought, the IMEI number (in the case of mobile phones) or serial number (for other products) to 32050, leaving a space after each piece of information."

"The Text-A-Guess promo would require participants to text their predictions of winners of the 100 meter sprint event, football and boxing competitions. They are text the word ‘Samsung’, their names, the sport event, predicted winner’s name and their phone number, leaving a space after each piece of information," he added.

Omoregha also informed that participants can win 10 46-inch LCD TV sets, 20 giant ultra-stylish Refrigerators and 300 of the SGH-J700 ‘Drogba’ phones in the Samsung Olympics Go-For-Gold promo while prizes up for grabs in the Text-A-Guess promo include 10 32-inch LCD TV sets, 200 SGH-J700 phones and 50 DX 1200 Home Theatre Systems.

You reaffirmed Samsung’s commitment to Nigerians, informing that they are not particular about the monetary value of the promo and assuring that winners would redeem their prizes provided they had supplied the right information.

Old buyers of Samsung products however, would not be eligible for the Olympics Go-For-Gold promo.
