Systems Applications and Products (SAP), world acclaim third largest software vendor has so far invested over $1.3 billion in Research and Development (R&D) even as it plans to increase investment in the nation’s economy.
Mrs. Yemi Keri, the company’s regional manager (West Africa) who spoke recent at a forum organized for chief financial officials of financial management institutions across the country, admitted that SAP is encouraged by the growing demand for its business solutions to expand its portfolio in the country.
"We are planning to increase our investment in Nigeria because of the growing demand for our business solutions. SAP profile has been on the rise in the last three years, especially as the company has been involved in building staff capacity aimed at remaining competitive," she explained.
To this end, the regional manager assured that SAP has designed business solutions that would measure the performance of sales representatives, market intelligence and which appraise the performance of firms including SAP over a given period of time, among others.
She pointed out that one major factor militating against the growth of businesses in the country was their resistance to change. She said most firms have a tradition of doing thing and tend to resist innovations. This, she noted, affect businesses negatively, especially in Nigeria.
