Skool Media donates laptops, security gadgets to FSTC Yaba
In line with its objective of providing infrastructural support to educational institutions in the country, the management and staff of Skool Media on Wednesday donated laptops and other security apparatus to the Federal Science & Technical College Yaba (FSTCY), Lagos State, as part of its Education First Campaign initiative.
Mr. Moses Imayi, MD/Project Director, Skool Media, Speaking during the presentation of the items to the school management, said that they were in the school as part of support scheme in ensuring quality education in a serene environment.
He described the gesture as a reinforcement of Skool Media’s commitment of providing infrastructural support to the advancement of knowledge in the country.
Mr. Imayi said, “Quality education can only thrive in a safe environment for our kids, as part of that commitment, Skool Media in partnership with management of Federal Science and Technology College (FSTC), Yaba conducted two-day training on best security practices on the 25th and 26th October for the 27 security personnel attached to the FSTC Yaba.
“As a follow up to that training and in order to equip them with the right tools, today (Wednesday) we are donating three (3) patrol bicycles, 10 Walkie-Talkies, eight (8) security searchlights, 10 raincoats, 10 security batons and 20 security whistles as part of the campaign drive as we believe a safe environment enables educational success for students and as a scheme to encourage our security officers on the need to put their best to work”.
As part of the Skool Media’s commitment as an organisation to enhance quality education and to provide the right tools to be globally competitive, they also donated 20 laptops to the Vice Principals and Heads of Departments of FSTC Yaba.
“At Skool Media Limited, education is pivotal to the growth of any economy and we will not relent in offering our services to ensure the momentum is maintained”, Mr. Imayi added.
Dr. Ogochukwu Ufoegbune, Director/Principal, FSTC Yaba, while receiving the items on behalf of the school management, described Skool Media as worthy partners with the School in the areas of ICT advancements.

“I am happy about these donations because it will improve situation of teaching, learning and security of lives and property in the FSTC Yaba. Invariably, it will boost the overall performance of our school.
“Honestly, this is not the first intervention to FSTC Yaba by Skool Media and I hope it will not be the last” the Director/Principal added.
Present at the ceremony were the Director/Principal of the School, Dr. Ogochukwu Ufoegbune, the PTA Chairman, Mr. Olisaeloka Anene, the Vice Principals, members of the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria (FSTC Yaba Chapter), heads of departments and the chief security officer of the school.
Nigeria Sanctions Committee (NSC) has designated Simon Ekpa, 16 other persons and two entities, for their alleged involvement in supporting terrorist activities and terrorism financing.

The committee further directed financial institutions to freeze their assets and report any transactions related to the individuals and entities to the Sanctions Committee and the Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).
Those named on the list include Simon Ekpa, Godstime Promise Iyare, Francis Mmaduabuchi, John Onwumere, Chikwuka Eze, Edwin Chukwuedo, Chinwendu Owoh, Ginika Orji, Awo Uchechukwu, and Mercy Ebere Ifeoma Ali.
Others are Ohagwu Juliana, Eze Okpoto, Nwaobi Chimezie, Ogomu Kewe, Igwe Ka Ala Enterprises, Seficuvi Global Company, and Lakurawa Group.
According to a document obtained from the committee on Thursday, the list was approved by the President upon the recommendation of the Attorney General of the Federation.
“The Nigeria Sanctions Committee held a meeting on March 6, 2024, where specific individuals and entities were recommended for designation following their involvement with terrorism financing.
“The Attorney General of the Federation, with the approval of the President, has thereupon designated the following individuals and entities to be listed on the Nigeria Sanctions List.
“In accordance with Section 54 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022, you are required to:
“(a) Immediately identify and freeze, without prior notice, all funds, assets, and any other economic resources belonging to the designated persons in your possession and report the same to the Sanctions Committee.
“(b) Report to the Sanctions Committee any assets frozen or actions taken in compliance with the prohibition requirements.
“(c) Immediately file a Suspicious Transactions Report (STR) to the NFIU for further analysis of the financial activities of such individuals or entities.
(d) Report as an STR to the NFIU all cases of name matching in financial transactions prior to or after receipt of this list.”
The committee ordered the immediate freezing of bank accounts and financial instruments associated with the listed individuals and entities across multiple banks, payment platforms, and financial institutions.
“Freezing measures should be extended to all accounts associated with the designated subjects. For designated entities, this should include accounts linked to their signatories and directors to ensure comprehensive enforcement of the sanctions regime,” the document added.
