SME Cloud Usage Rises to 27%- BCX

BCX, together with the Small Enterprise Development Agency (SEDA) conducted a study on Small and medium enterprises (SME) usage of the cloud technology,

According to the report, SMEs cloud usage has grown to 27%, an 18% increase.

This is not surprising according to Charles Lalieu (BCX) who said that, “There is no doubt of the advantages of utilizing cloud and the cloud model is internationally proven. SME owners need to start looking at cloud differently; they need to interrogate the benefits of increasing adaption to the cloud and aid the transition from current systems onto the cloud, and according to Laleiu, this progression is accelerating and is likely to continue gaining momentum.

The World Wide Worx annual SME survey was done specifically to measure the factors that influence the competitiveness and success of SME’s.

Cloud was top of the list of this year’s survey and the results were telling, according to BCX.

This might explain why in the survey, 20% of SME’s said they would definitely use the Cloud should their business require it, but 30% were unsure about this.

According to Arthur Goldstruck, “If the business case can be clearly demonstrated to these potential users, adoption will move closer to 50%.”

This means that there is a possibility that Cloud adoption could double in the next 12-24 months. It is all about a clear and obvious value proposition.
