Smile Communications of Smile Telecoms Holdings limited has hinted on its determination to drive broadband services across cities in the country.
Tom Allen, chief operating officer of the Company made the remark in Lagos during the mini-launch of Nigeria’s broadband campaign, adding that the firm currently rolling out broadband services to subscribers in Lagos and Oyo States feels delighted by the enormous plans by the Federal Government of Nigeria to ensure that all nooks and crannies in the Country is connected.
Smile delivers affordable, high-quality and easy-to-use broadband internet access and communications services to its customers across Africa.
He said that the Company founded in 2007 sources the best technology available in order to create the innovative solutions required to provide world-class, yet cost-effective, communications services across Africa.
“Our first commercial network, which provided low-cost voice and messaging services over WiMAX technology, was launched in Kampala, Uganda in November 2009. Since those early days, our offering has improved substantially and we now also have a solid presence in Tanzania and Nigeria.
“Smile Communications hopes to become a part of the broadband community in Nigeria in the next few years, reaching different cities. And we are delighted by the efforts made by the Federal Government of Nigeria through the office of Minister of Communication Technology to ensure that bottlenecks faced by operators are minimized. This will help in no small measure in broadband roll-out in the Country,” Allen said.
Smile’s vision for the market is encapsulated by its value statement that, “Everything is possible when done with Humanity, Humility, Integrity and Inspiration. This statement encapsulates how we approach every aspect of our job, every service and product we offer and how we deal with our customers, partners and our staff”.
Nigerians living in Ibadan and Lagos already enjoy the Country’s fastest and most reliable 4G LTE broadband internet service, brought to them by Smile, the Company said, as Abuja and Port Harcourt will follow in early 2014.
