Software Testing Association of Nigerian (Stan) has just been inaugurated to regulate the practice of software and applications testing and quality assurance, as well as raise the standard of locally produced software to conform to global standards.
Certified by the International Software Testing and Quality Board (ISTQB), the global body regulating software testing and quality assurance, it has enormous responsibilities in the fight against counterfeit software, which has enjoyed substantial patronage so far in the Nigerian market.
Hopes are high that the association comprising 33 renowned professionals will help sanitize the Nigerian software market characterized by forgery and piracy, to the detriment of the application providers.
Members of trustees of the association are: Prof. H.O.D Longe, Mr. Wale Akingbade, Mr. John Ayoh, Dr. Chris Uwaje, Mr. Inye Kemobonta, Alh.
