Spotself App is being positioned for a shift in paradigm, in which social media becomes a definer of social discourse in Nigeria.
As at December 2014 in a research carried out by African Digital Statistics it was established that Nigeria holds the highest number of internet users with a majority of them connected to the different social media apps that has been introduced into the Nigerian market.
About 80% of the Nigerian youth are usually connected on at least two of the social media apps and the whole 100% percent of them make use of the internet for everything from useful information to unnecessary tidbits.
According to Nnenna Nwakanma, the A.R.C for the World Wide Web Foundation “so we are looking at a shift in paradigm, in which social media becomes a definer of social discourse.”
Nwakanma added that the understanding of the importance of social media to the Nigerian society informed the development of this new app called Spotself.
“This app is a picture/dating app and it is the new way of experiencing Picture Sharing, meeting new people and establishing solid relationships depending on your individual preferences. The app which is designed for the Nigerian youth in particular recently launched its Android version and on Saturday the 13th of June there will be a Launch party to officially mark the birth of the app in the Nigerian market.
In light of this, the app launch holds this month and Jens Mathiasson who is the CEO of the brand will be introducing the app and all of its exciting features.
