Starcomms, Nigeria’s leading private telecommunications operator has introduced a series of affordable mobile internet facilities to cater for a wide range of people.

Mr. Maher Qubain, chief executive officer, Starcomms, said that the move was in order to show appreciation for the wide acceptance of its products and services,

He said "our newly launched color and data enabled mobile phone Haier D1200P has already achieved good success. Now, looking at the internet need of the customers we have come up with two special internet packages with this mobile.

One of the products introduced is a bundle offer of 250 hours of Data and the new color data mobile Haier D1200P at a very attractive price of N 8,750, the 250 hrs data comes with three months validity."

The second product, Qubain said that is for the Students segment, who have both voice and data need. This is another very attractive bundle offering 100 hours of Data and Haier D1200P mobile phone. The 100 Hrs data comes with one month validity. Not just these, but the customers would also get free airtime of N 1,000, all these for just N 7, 599, effectively only 50per cent of the actual cost.

Launching the Special Students Pack, Mr. Manoj Vashisht, marketing director, Starcomms said "while on the one hand we have created an attractive and affordable bundle for students segment, we are also running a unique promotion for Students who purchase this product. One lucky student will stand to win an all expense paid seven days Trip to China. This will include a return economy class ticket from Lagos, 3-Star Hotel accommodation, sightseeing in Beijing, Quingdao. The winner will get to see one of the 7 wonders of the world – the Great Wall of China, Lao Mountain, Top two Universities of China situated in Beijing, and other sightseeing".

The marketing director said, "the data packages are the most affordable internet bundles in the market today with monthly renewal packages that is not only affordable, but customized for different segments, especially the hourly packages of 100 hours for one month and 250 hours with three months validity".

The Haier D1200P is a 1x device which can be connected using the supplied USB cable with laptops/desktops and is compatible with both Windows XP and Windows Vista.
