OnKobo, a new start-up is Nigeria’s cashback platform that rewards users with cashbacks for shopping popular Nigeria online portals.

And the platform has started giving out free N1000 bonus to early users, an initiative that will continue until it attains 1000 users.

Launched in private beta on 18th of October, 2016, the platform offers varying cashback based on categories from shopping portals that include Jumia, Konga and Jumia Market (formerly Kaymu), a collection of portals that will have more added soon so users will have options in earning cahbacks as they shop on their favourite shopping portals according to founders.

Speaking to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, Chenemi, co-founder of the baby start-up said in near future, OnKobo will reimburse cashback in nearly everything from everyday need to everything else that involves spending money online and offline.

A feature, he believes, will ensure customer comes back to use the platform and in the process increases sales for partnering businesses.

With growing internet subscriber base and the trend in reduction of internet usage cost by major network operators in Nigeria due to competition, ecommerce will sure be a major driver of the Nigerian economy for more years.

And with start-ups like OnKobo relying on this growth to offer shoppers a great way to shop, earn and save simultaneously, more people will worriless on cost of purchasing items online.
