Thomson Reuters Assists Lagos with Law Reform

Thomson Reuters has announced that it has published a landmark publication of reviewed and reformed laws of Lagos State.

The publication marks the beginning of the process of continually making the Lagos State laws more accessible to the general public both in the State and Nigeria as a whole, and also beyond its borders to the international legal community.

The laws of Lagos State 2015, is a compendium of consolidated reformed laws produced by Thomson Reuters and the Lagos State Law Reform Commission, a body established in 2012 and statutorily empowered to review and reform the laws of Lagos State.

More than 233 laws are in the compendium which is now available for sale to the general public. Lagos State has been very active in reforming law and introducing efficiency. It has set a progressive example for several other states and countries.

Approved by the Lagos State Executive Council, the publication has also been reviewed and passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly, the state legislature for Lagos State.

The launch ceremony, which took place at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium in Lagos, Nigeria, was attended by federal and state government dignitaries including the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode and honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem.
