Saturday December 12th will not be forgotten so easily by the crowds of enthusiastic Nigerians who thronged the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) Field in Festac for the third edition of Gyming with the Stars, a CSR initiative put together by Yudala, Nigeria’s first true composite online and offline retail chain.

The event which commenced from 7am was remarkable for the huge attendance recorded, with many seizing the opportunity to take advantage of the special Yu-Jara auction sales at the venue.

For many others, the occasion provided a unique avenue to mingle and work out with celebrities such as Ali Baba, Iyanya, Naeto C and Uru Eke while signing up for YUBOSS, an entrepreneurship and wealth creation scheme set up by Yudala in partnership with Access Bank Plc. and telecommunications giants, Airtel to generate creative employment for a minimum of two million Nigerians.

The well-attended event which kicked off with an intensive work-out and aerobic sessions led by ace comedian Ali Baba, screen star Uru Eke and other certified fitness instructors attracted a mammoth crowd.

As was the case with previous editions, superstar artistes Iyanya and Naeto C did not fail to excite the crowd, treating them to mind-blowing performances and hit songs which had everyone dancing and singing along.

Among the crowds that turned out in their large numbers was a 76-year old resident of Festac Town, Pa Lukman Ajayi who participated in the work-out sessions and who claimed to have learnt of the event through radio jingles and handbills distributed in the neighbourhood.

The Yu-Jara special Christmas auction at the venue also attracted many shoppers, with mobile phones, computers, assorted Lifestyle and Consumer Goods; choice wines, Champagne and Cognac as well as foodstuff such as bags of Yu-Rice and many more featuring prominently among the sales while many lucky winners smiled home with exciting gifts including refrigerators, mobile phones, music systems, iPads and free airtime, among others in the raffle draw anchored by Airtel at the venue.

“Yudala is the only company in Nigeria that is presently offering Nigerians value-added opportunities such as the Gyming with the Stars series. We are interested in promoting Fitness, Wellness and Entrepreneurship and this is justified by the huge investment we have committed in bringing this event to thousands of Nigerians. Through it, many more people get a chance to lead healthier and more positive lifestyles while taking advantage of the health talks and other healthy products we have on offer in our Healthy Living range which is set for launch soon,” said Mr. Stanley Uzoechina, Vice President, Yudala Offline Retail Stores.

“It is also interesting to note the large numbers of people who have registered for YUBOSS today. We are delighted by this as it only goes to show the growing popularity of the scheme which offers many of our youths a zero investment platform with which to earn money and create wealth,” he noted.

YUBOSS is an entrepreneurship scheme set up by Yudala to build a league of emerging entrepreneurs and generate creative employment for millions of Nigerians.

Members are entitled to attractive commissions and a wide range of benefits including business mentorship sessions and an opportunity to be a part-owner of a Yudala franchise store when they achieve platinum status.

The Gyming with the Stars series is expected to move to other major cities in the country including Ibadan, Asaba, Abuja, Owerri, Uyo and Enugu, among others to give Nigerians in those locations a chance to participate in the initiative.
