The level of excitement, extraordinary musical craftsmanship and entertainment, in the past months, have left the teeming audience yearning for more from the ten contestants left in the Season IV of the Etisalat sponsored musical reality show, Nigerian Idol.

The elimination of Nex2 and Obed last week, left Jesse Raey, Evelle, Lisa, Eye-D, Elvis Jay, Xolani, Ms. Oge, Nyrolove, Beebee Bassey and Antwon to showcase their talents and make the most of the over two months of hard-work each contestant has put in to get to this stage of the show.

It flows almost naturally that the 10 finalists took to the stage last weekend, stylishly dressed, and delivered their choice of songs with admirable gusto, showing great musical performances that had the judges and the studio audience commending the talents on display.

One of the contestants who received a wow commendation from the three judges for her performance was Eye-D with her perfect rendition of Emeli Sande’s ‘Clown’. From Nneka she got a commendation of ‘very emotional, dynamic and excellent,’ while Darey said he liked the pantomime infusion in her performance.

Speaking at the end of the show, Idiare Atimomo, manager, Youth Segment, Etisalat Nigeria, urged people to watch the show and vote for contestants with talent, based on their performances.

According to Atimomo, “The show is getting better and hotter every week as it hits the final stage. From tonight’s show, I can vividly say that I am overwhelmed with the contestants’ performances. These guys are good; they performed as if they were superstars already. My advice to the viewers and audience is to watch the show and vote for real talent.”

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was when fast rising Nigerian Pop sensation Yemi Eberechi Alade dazzled the audience with her smash hit single ‘Johnny’.

Her sharp moves and captivating vocals, combined with her gracious personality to help her connect with the joyful fans in the studio who danced all-through her performance.
