TVA and Uniqcast Partner to Launch Glotv in Nigeria
TV Anywhere Africa (TVA), an emerging media-technology company and leading mobile network operator in Nigeria, Globacom, have partnered to launch GloTV in Nigeria.
Glo TV is an OTT platform that brings engaging, interactive and premium entertainment content to its subscribers through a rich bouquet of offerings including hundreds of live entertainment programs, music, documentaries, news, sports, original shows, fashion, lifestyle, kiddies’ interest channels and over 1,000 videos.
Obafemi Banigbe, CEO and co-founder at TV Anywhere, commented on the deal with Globacom saying: “The Nigerian digital TV segment has been largely untapped, and we are excited to partner with Globacom Nigeria, a formidable player in the telecoms space in Nigeria, to realize the market potential of this service. TV Anywhere seeks to commoditize access to high-quality TV content in a manner that addresses consumers’ need for flexible pay-as-you-go content while being tailored to prevailing digital content consumption patterns. Nigeria is a critical market for our business, and we are proud to partner with Globacom”.
On the other hand, Darko Robic, CEO at Uniqcast, has expressed his excitement on the partnership with TV Anywhere saying: “We are proud to support TV Anywhere with our experience in end-to-end IPTV/OTT projects and network specifics in emerging markets. I look forward to further cooperation with TV Anywhere Africa as they rollout services across the Africa and the rest of the emerging markets”.
To recall, TV Anywhere Africa is a media technology company which offers IPTV Platform-as-a-Service, local and international content aggregation, and customized, white-label user interface to enable telecom operators, internet service providers, and independent OTT players to profitably deliver high-quality content to their userbase in a cost-effective manner.
