U.S. Consulate Holds Google Hangout on Student Life at HBCUs

The United States Consulate General in Lagos will host a Google Hangout on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 1 p.m., to respond to questions from the public on how to apply to U.S. higher education, with a focus on living and studying at any of the 107 Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Amarachi Ubani, Channels Television’s Foreign Affairs Editor will moderate the one hour Google Hangout session and direct your questions to an EducationUSA advisor, an American alumna of, and two Nigerian students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities, who will share practical information about academic programs and campus life at HBCUs.

“We look forward to helping students who are considering continuing their education in the United States.

The Google Hangout session promises to provide valuable information on educational, social, cultural and economic aspects of studying in a typical American university, especially at Historically Black Colleges and Universities,” Darcy Zotter, Public Affairs Officer said.

Building on the success of the previous Google Hangout sessions held in August 2015 and April 2016, which thousands of Nigerians, including those residing outside the country participated in, the upcoming session is being organized in commemoration of the 2017 Black History Month.
