UBA Capital, has launched the first online trading platform with real time investment account funding functionality, as part of its commitment to attract more retail investors’ participation through technology.

The platform, www.investnow.ng, enables investors to fund their investment accounts directly and instantly, without the need to go through an account officer in the option of a client-company funds lodgment.

INVESTNOW.NG also provides a live price feed (intra-day) for listed stocks, enabling investors to make informed decisions based on the latest data.

Speaking during the launch of the product at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Tuesday, Mrs. Oluwatoyin  Sanni, chief executive officer of UBA Capital, who noted  that Nigeria has a fertile population group that would create heavy labour pool to attract foreign direct investment, however bemoaned the dominance of foreign investors participation in the nation’s capital market.

“We have 53 per cent of foreign investors’ participation against 47 per cent by retail and there was need to improve that segment of the market. Nigeria has the lowest in terms of domestic participation and we are still far less than Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana among others.

“To increase domestic participation and guard against foreign investors pulling of fund during crises situation, we created this easy and affordable platform.

“Since UBA Capital was founded our mission has been to develop the capital markets in Nigeria in order to give the investing public the confidence to invest actively. The INVESTNOW.NG platform combines world-class technology with a robust client data protection and security framework in order to give our clients a seamless experience when processing transactions. Our clients will have access to research materials to make informed investment decisions,” she added.

UBA Capital clients will now be able to manage their portfolios online on mobile devices, tablets, laptops and desktop computers. 24/7 connectivity to the portfolio is complemented by access to UBA Capital’s Online Customer Support via online chat functionality, so investors can talk directly to the customer service team who will manage regular enquiries, whilst more technical issues will be forwarded to account officers for swift resolution.

“By making investing in Nigeria quicker and simpler and providing real time data in order to inform investment choices, the INVESTNOW.NG platform brings us closer to our customers and we anticipate the transaction volumes rising over the coming weeks and months as our customers enjoy the flexibility and ease of building the Nigerian economy with UBA Capital.”
