UK Firm, Task Systems to Build Largest Online Mall

Some strategic investors from the United Kingdom have approached Task Systems, a leading ICT company in Nigeria and a member of Zinox Group, to join forces to build the largest online mall yet in Africa, Nigeria CommunicationsWeek has learnt.

Details are still sketchy as Task Systems founded by Leo Stan Ekeh, African’s foremost digital entrepreneur some 26 years has refused to comment on the landmark deal.

But the UK firm sees Task System as major platform to launch big into the African due to the Nigerian company’s history and smart structure.

Task System is strategically positioned in the financial, telecom, oil and gas sector of the economy and has a track record of helping clients improve performance, measurable growth in return on investment, manages change effectively and delivers excellent business result.

“I think the investors are looking to partner with Task Systems to launch the largest retail and online network in Nigeria that shall have physical presence in the 36 states of the federation within one year.”  A source  told Nigeria CommunicationsWeek.

According to the source, the same investors had approached Zinox Group two years ago but the owners of the company were not in a hurry to seal the deal.

Task Systems has been in the fore front of technology development in Nigeria.

The company pioneered Desktop publishing and Computer graphics in Nigeria and was the first to launch Apple Computers in Nigeria 22years ago.
