ValuCard Nigeria Plc has given out 40 tickets to various merchants who accept Visa/Vpay cards at their locations/shops for the Fifa U-17 World Cup which kicked off October 24, 2009. The tickets courtesy of Visa Inc. are for two opening matches in Lagos, matches 03/04 which is Brazil Vs Japan and Mexico Vs Switzerland.
Speaking at the event which held at ValuCard’s head office in Lagos,  Vivian Okolo, ValuCard’s head of Acquiring Services said that the presentation of the tickets is consequent on the commitment of ValuCard Nigeria Plc to the mutual business relationship advancement with its merchants. “It is a way to say thank you for staying by us. What we have done today, though may be small, is a build up to our activation and promo towards the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, which we have tagged Hopes & Dreams Promo, where 10 all expense paid trip to see the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa would be won by five Visa/Vpay cardholders and N5 million by five of our merchants,” she siad.
Also speaking, Doyin Akinyemi, group head, Processing and Business Development of ValuCard said it is important that they meet often to rob minds and share their mutual benefits. “The tickets though limited, we thought we should share with those who have been with us and have continued to see that Visa Cardholders are given reception to use their cards at their locations and outlets.’’
The representatives of the various merchants also used the event to ask very pertinent questions, to which the duo of Okolo and Doyin Akinyemi gave ample responses.
Adesoye Martins of MedPlus Pharmacy Limited, while thanking ValuCard on behalf of other recipients of the tickets for the gesture called for more of such events.
