Vconnect, a Nigerian local search engine, has doled out $3500 in support of local software developers.
The Company is a principal partner with Mobile Monday Nigeria on HACKATHON 2013, to stage a software development contest tagged “Entertainment Now”.
In an official statement, Vconnect explained the contest which holds June 24 in Lagos, would test competing developers on the creation of the best webpage movie applications within 8-hours.
“This contest is geared towards discovering skilled internet mobile application developers who have the ability to develop WAP movie applications usable on a variety of platforms using ASP.NET and PHP languages on a Microsoft SQL Server Database”, Vconnect said.
The organisers are set to reward the winner with a star prize of $2000 and a dream opportunity to work at VConnect, while the second runner up and third runner get $1000 and $500 respectively.
