Voting Lines for Beacon of Awards Closes Next Week

 Voting lines for the Beacon of ICT Awards, the most awaited merit-centric celebrations of deserving talents, contributions and commitments to the growth of the ICT industry in Nigeria, will close March 15, Communication Week Media limited, organizers of the event announced at the weekend.
Nigerian can however still vote for nominees by sending emails to [email protected] on or before 6 pm
Ken Nwogbo, spokesman for the company, said the selection committee is pleasantly surprised by the passion with which Nigerians have been voting for the various nominees of the awards.
“The passion and energy have been unrivalled; the voting pattern show that Nigerians really recognise and appreciate the efforts of the nominees in steering the ICT industry in the country” Nwogbo said.
It will be recalled that the organizers of the awards opened the voting lines for Nigerians to choose companies and individuals who have affected their lives and positively in November 2009.
Four months after, the trend shows that the awards is living up to its billing as “people voice”
According to Nwogbo, the selection committee is expected to announce the winners of the awards at a special awards/dinner at the prestigious Eko Hotels March 27.
The awards are free and have been designed primarily to recognise government and business organisations as well as individuals for their creativity and excellence in the application of ICTs and solutions to provide efficient and high-quality services to Nigerians.
It also rewards the vision and enterprise of individuals and companies/organization that have contributed to the growth of the ICT industry.
The Beacon of ICT awards aim to evaluate and recognize standards of excellence in the country’s quest for growth and development in the use of ICT.
The awards also encourage public and private institutions to use ICT for development in general and improve public/citizens services in particular while motivating other stakeholders in effective utilization of ICT for citizens’ services.
ICT professionals are provided a benchmark for recognizing and validating outstanding contributions with the awards.
