Wadof Opens Portal for Job Seekers, Employers

Wadof Software Consulting has opened an Internet based platform where jobseekers, employers and government agencies can interact in a seamless manner.
According to Wahab Aminu-Sarumi, CEO of Wadof, the initiative will enable employers and jobseekers socialize; and will create a one-stop shop of opportunities for them.
“The portal www.goodjobsportal.com can be accessed with the use of recharge cards, at a minimal fee, and jobseekers could upload their CVs to register their presence on the web.”
“Existing registered employers, many of whom are multinationals and high profile indigenous companies, and the jobseekers meet as in a market place where available jobs exchange hands,” he said.
Aminu-Sarumi said that the platform will free both employers and jobseekers from the agony of long queues that are commonplace in many organizations today and even free them from the trauma of combing major cities for jobs that could be got by the click of a button.
For him, the portal will also complement newspaper adverts as jobseekers can apply online for previously advertised jobs; while also providing a flexible workbench for employers, which would allow users to download basic information of candidates to Microsoft Excel for further processing, and can also serve as a temporary storage of jobseekers’ information.
He explained that as a time saver, the portal sorts out the best out of the several thousands of CVs that must have been submitted by job applicants. “The reality of unemployment in the country indicates that tens of thousands will apply for very few available jobs, thereby creating administrative challenges and bottlenecks for recruitment officers if you have to open, collate and review the various CVs.”
The Wadof boss noted that postal costs are no longer an issue as jobseekers can apply online for advertised jobs, adding that pre-application fees demanded by some government agencies may no longer prevail as there are ongoing plans by Wadof to provide them with CVs of jobseekers at no cost, as part of their corporate social responsibility.
