Why Connect Nigeria BizFair 2020 Was Postponed
The organizers of Connect Nigeria Business Fair, CN BizFair 2020 has announced the postponement of the fair due to the recent confirmation of Corona Virus in Lagos.
Uzo Anekwe, head, Business Development ConnectNigeria.com; in a statement released on Tuesday in Lagos, said that the decision to postpone the fair was borne out of their desire to ensure that attendees are safe from contracting the disease.
According to him, “On 27th February, 2020, the Federal Ministry of Health published a report titled ‘The First Case of Coronavirus Disease confirmed in Nigeria’.
“Since the outbreak of the disease in China in January 2020, this first case which was reported in Lagos further confirms the international dimension to the crisis.
“Unfortunately, due to the current news of corona virus detected in Nigeria and government directive, Connect Nigeria being a socially responsible organization, have decided to postpone the 2020 Vision Business Fair earlier slated to hold from March 6-7, 2020 at the Tafawa Balewa Square indefinitely or rather till clearer directive are available.
“We strongly believe that the lives of Nigerians and our attendees are too valuable to be put in such risk.
“However, follow-up details of the new date, time and other important arrangements that would be duly communicated.
“We appreciate all the support we have received from our partners, sponsors, exhibitors, speakers, attendees and everyone looking forward to making this event memorable.
“We also appreciate you for your understanding of this matter and support for the decision and direction the management of Connect Nigeria is taking to avoid an escalation of this emergency.
“We would continue working together to achieve the vision of the Connect Nigeria’s Business Fair”, he added.
