WTL Mulls Webinar on ‘How to Profitably Connect the Unconnected’

World Telecoms Lab (WTL) will on Thursday, 8th December at 14:00 - 14:45 GMT hold a Webinar, a seminar conducted over the Internet, on how to profitably connect the unconnected.

According to an email sent to Nigeria CommunicationsWeek, WTL said that its experts will be hosting a unique webinar, sharing an innovative partnership model that has recently emerged and which promises to enable the profitable connection of the unconnected.

“Connecting the unconnected is one of the key development goals of our time, promising social and economic benefits. It’s also an outstanding way to ensure the efficient use of spectrum resources.

“Don’t forget to join our webinar to find out how a new approach can unlock the benefits of connectivity, while creating new business models and opportunities,” the email reads.

Wherever mobile networks have been built, it has been an aim to achieve the widest possible coverage, so that the largest possible segment of the population can have access to mobile services.

Mobile networks are cheaper than conventional, fixed infrastructure and so have long offered the promise of bringing universal connectivity at an affordable price to all.

The economic and social benefits of doing so are well known. Put simply, mobile has offered the potential, at long last, to deliver communications and data services to the many who remain beyond the reach of conventional networks.

Recently, the Federal Government through the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) declared its readiness to connect over 40 million Nigerians who are presently, either unconnected or underserved.
