Zain Nigeria has rewarded more winners in the Home Viewers Game segment of the ongoing International Inter University Television Quiz Show, the Zain Africa Challenge.
At the ceremony held at the company’s head office in Lagos, over 12 people were presented with their winnings, bringing to 135 the total number of winners that have received prizes since the beginning of the 2010 edition of the Show.
Each of the winners was presented with a brand new Internet enabled Nokia N97 phone, airtime, a SIM card and a pack containing Zain branded items.
The winners at the ceremony were the sixth batch of Nigerians to be rewarded at an event in Lagos in the SMS based Zain’s Home Viewers Game. Several other winners have also collected their prizes in Zain regional offices across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Emeka Oparah, the head Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility, Zain Nigeria, said the programme is specially designed to excite, stimulate the intellect and enlighten Nigerians on numerous subjects including science, history, technology, and Politics amongst others.
He explained that the Home Viewers Game offers people across the country an opportunity through the pan African academic quiz contest to win various items including those that will enable them stay connected to the internet, gain access to a vast array of information and people.
Oparah who was represented by Chinda Manjor, head of Corporate Social Responsibility Programme, said Zain will continue to treat its customers with great respect, remain fair and transparent in all its Game Shows and Offers, and continually seek ways to connect and delight Nigerians.
Winners who received prices at the ceremony included Aliyu Mohammed, a student at the Lagos State Polytechnic; Owen Altraide, a Lagos based Accountant; Lucky Egbamuno, an applicant; Kelechi Emenike, a student and Oyeboade Makinde, an Administration Assistant with a Non-Governmental Organisation in Lagos.
Others are: Charles Akachukwu, an exporter; Doris Adesanya, a Nursing  Mother; Lawrence Ojebode, an Accountant; Sadiq Talimu Abubakar, a Civil Servant at Nigeria Ports Authority; Haziz Abdul, a Student at the Federal University of Technology, Minna; Maybel Fanu, a retired Civil Servant and Kolawole Omoniyi, a Management Trainee at  Niger Biscuit Limited, Lagos.
The winners expressed their gratitude to Zain for the opportunity to participate and win prizes in the Game Show. One of the winners, Lucky Egbamuno, commended Zain for introducing such a very educative and intellectually entertaining programme, adding that he has encouraged many of his friends to participate in the programme.
To participate in the Home Viewers Game segment of the highly educative International inter University Quiz Show, viewers are required send the correct answer (option) and the name of the Television Statement to the short code, 35056.
The prize presentation was witnessed by several Zain Officials including Marie-Christiane Kaul, director, Business Process, Zain Nigeria; Ifeanyi Egwuawa, head, Experiential Marketing; Emmanuel Otokhine, PR Manager; Adefolake Ogunbanjo, Research and Strategy Team Member; Chinda Manjor, head, Corporate Social Responsibility and Chioma Okolie, Corporate Social Responsibility Team member.
Zain Africa Challenge is a fast-paced quiz show for Universities in West, East and Southern Africa countries where Zain operates. The quiz covers a wide range of topics, including history, science, African culture, geography, literature, music and current affairs.
