Zain Set to 100 Nigerians Millionaires

Mobile telecommunications operator, Zain is set to excite the Nigerian telecom market with the introduction of ‘Wake Up a Millionaire’ Offer, a marketing initiative designed to make more Nigerians millionaires.
The Offer, a very rewarding and interactive SMS Service is expected to encourage the texting culture as well as reward and empower the mobile operator’s customers who will regularly send SMS during the campaign. The offer is open to existing and new customers of Zain Nigeria.
According to Shamel Hanafi, chief commercial officer, Zain Nigeria, ‘Wake Up a Millionaire’ will elevate over a 100 Nigerians into the millionaires rank instantly as well as reward several others with a variety of prizes including laptops, mobile phones, generators, among others.
Draws will be done daily and monthly, Hanafi explained, adding that winners in the monthly draw will receive N10,000,000.00 each while the daily draw winners will be rewarded with N2,000,000.00 each. Additionally, many other Zain customers will receive various items as prizes for participating in the Offer.

Speaking on the process of participation in the Offer, he said it has been simplified deliberately to make it easy for many Nigerians, irrespective of their education, social and financial profile to participate and win prizes.
“Wake up a Millionaire” is anchored on a point-based interactive SMS system. To participate in the Offer, customers are required to send SMS with the keyword ‘WIN’ to the short code, ‘222’. Every SMS sent by a customer automatically earns him 10 point and therefore 10 entries in the Draws.
When a customer sends SMS to the short- code (222), he will automatically receive a response. Once the customer responds to the request, he receives another SMS. The more SMS a customer responds to, the more points he will receive and the higher his chances of winning the daily prize of N2,000,000.00 (two million naira) and the monthly prize of N10,000,000.00 (ten million naira)
In all, over two hundred Zain customers will receive cash prizes worth N230 million plus other life-changing prizes from March 17 to June 24 2010.
