Zamir Telecom, Exchange Telecom to Interconnect MNOs in Nigeria to Global Telco

Zamir Telecom’s joint venture with Exchange Telecom, enabling multiple STM1 capacity across four cities in Nigeria, has directly connected the global telco to all mobile network operators (MNOs) in Nigeria.

This gives Zamir Telecom a unique position of terminating high quality voice traffic through a direct route to all MNOs in Nigeria.

Exchange Telecom, which has the license to interconnect MNOs as a clearing house, made Zamir Telecom its chosen technical partner to manage operations to enable required capacity across four cities – Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Ibadan. This interconnects Exchange Telecom with all MNOs in Nigeria including MTN, Airtel, Globacom and Etisalat. 

With its industry-leading application and infrastructure knowledge, Zamir Telecom’s engineers have set up the technical infrastructure and have completed the installation end-to-end.

From the planning stages to project management and system integration, Zamir Telecom has worked closely with Exchange Telecom and managed all facets of the new TDM/VoIP network as a reliable and trustworthy partner.

Nigeria is the ideal target for expansion into Africa’s emerging economy as it is one of the most populated areas in the region.

 MTN recently reported that Nigeria is the main source of its traffic and revenue.

In the past year, MTN has seen an addition of 9.3 million subscribers resulting in 5.7 percent revenue growth.

Zamir Telecom is now providing a managed service to operate and maintain the network. This includes an operation team in Nigeria and the 24/7 global NOC.

Zamir Telecom will effectively manage the flow of traffic with its own in-house capabilities, which means it can offer high quality reliable voice termination across the region.
