Post Office Boxes without Keys

It is often said that it is easier to give water to a monkey than to get the cup off his hands.   Subscribing to Nipost office boxes these days is a thing one can do with ease over the counter but more to that, getting the keys to a new post office box is one hell of a journey.
 The heightened demand for post office boxes in the country was occasioned by the increase in the level of awareness of opportunities in the stock business by Nigerians not until now that the market position is not favourable . People needed a secure and convenient means of receiving important documents other than the ordinary street delivery system and post office boxes offered the alternative.
The surface mail system which people will sit in their homes or offices and a mail runner comes around to deliver a letter has been widely criticized as unsafe and inefficient by Nigerians  who have one experience or two to share. With   ownership of a P O Box, it affords a subscriber the convenience to walk in to the post office of his branch   and collects his parcels or letters at any time. But this at present is not to be as people after almost one year of paying and being allocated a box cannot have access to their boxes unless they are assisted during the working hours by Nipost staff on the presentation of the purchase receipt to show the person is the rightful owner of the box before he is given his letters if there is any in the box. If the person fails to come within the working hours means he will not have access to his letters.
Post office boxes should be made to operate like the Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) which is open to the public 24/7.
Part of the Nipost reforms should be to increase capacity. Since transactions will have shown that there is increase in demand for post office boxes, arrangements should have been made by Nipost to print the keys to the boxes instead of telling endless tales of how management ordered for new keys and they are yet to arrive and so on and so forth.
