DStv Access Bouquet Debuts at N1,500!

The era when ownership of satellite pay-TV was considered a luxury can well be officially declared over, as DStv has added on another bouquet, arguably the cheapest in Africa.
DStv Access, as it is called, costs only N1,500 and comes with 29 world-class channels including BET, Trace TV, E Entertainment, SuperSport Blitz, Magic World, National Geographic Wild and 5 Nigerian channels – all cutting across major entertainment genres to give subscribers a wonderful TV experience.
At the launch in Lagos penultimate weekend, Joseph Hundah, managing director, MultiChoice Nigeria, said that DStv Access was introduced to the line-up to make their services available to Nigerians of all class and income groups.
“The launch of DStv Access is a dream come true. It has been our plan to make DStv accessible to every Nigerian. Efforts at achieving this have included the opening of branches and inauguration of superdealers across the country; introduction of bouquets that everyone can afford and the sustenance of premium quality programmes on our platform,” he said.
Hundah stated that it took his team a while to conclude the launch of the bouquet as there were rights and content issues to contend with, while informing that more channels will be added to the bouquet in due course, in response to the yearnings of DStv enthusiasts.
Likewise, Donald Etim, chief marketing officer, informed that DStv Access was created following extensive research and focus group discussions embarked upon by the company, which revealed that many Nigerians wish to have access to first-rate information and television programming, but do not have enough purchasing power.
According to him, “DStv Acess is the official minimum way to get onto the DStv platform. We got feedback from Nigerians on the need for affordable bouquets. This has led to the introduction of first, the DStv Compact, followed by the DStv Family, and now the DStv Access priced at an all-time low subscription rate of N1,500 per month.”
One of MultiChoice superdealers at the event, Abdulkarim Sarumi of Tard Engineering, urged Nigerians to take advantage of the latest bouquet and enjoy the magic world of pay-TV. He said that the superdealers shall ensure that subscribers’ interests are taken into consideration, as whatever feedback they get from the market shall be relayed to MultiChoice to achieve premium quality on DStv.
