Nigerian Breweries Plc has promised that the winner of this year’s edition of Star Quest will have a higher package than previous winners on the show.
This was disclosed by Yusuf Ageni, corporate affairs adviser of the company while addressing newsmen in Lagos, last week.
He said contestants from all over the country are given the opportunity to become the next stars in the Nigerian music scene and win a coveted recording contract, a mini van which will aid the artistes’ mobility, cash prize of N7.5million and one year accommodation in Lagos.
According to him, “Anybody that has any talent in music and who is not less than 18 years can apply for the contest. We are making this huge investment because Star, as a brand, is successful and we want to build successful musicians.”
Unlike the previous editions where contestants register online, contestants now have to come for audition at designated centres, which would give them equal opportunities, said Ehi Braimah of Neo Media and Marketing.
Star Quest has since discovered such great music acts as KC Presh, Pulse and Dynamite, among others.
