MultiChoice Nigeria has declared March as women’s month on DStv.
According to Segun Fayose, the company’s head of Corporate Communications, “A series of interesting quality programmes have been packaged to offer subscribers, especially women, optimum viewing pleasure on DStv. Every year, March 8 is celebrated around the world as International Women's Day. 2010 is no different and TV viewers across Africa can tune in for various programmes featuring and or hosted by women on DStv throughout March.”
He invited subscribers to join CNN's leading lady, Christiane Amanpour, in her live global interview program, Amanpour, throughout the month. Airing Monday to Thursday (8pm local time), the highly-anticipated interview program, hosted by the internationally renowned and multi-award-winning journalist will aim to set the agenda for a new global conversation. Each half-hour show focuses on a single topic - often news-driven, often provocative - bringing to bear Christiane’s vast journalistic experience and depth of knowledge honed from a quarter of a century reporting from around the world, alongside some of the major influencers and newsmakers of the day.
Audiences are advised to watch out for Xpress: Lady Gaga (March 12 at 7.30pm local time) on Channel O. The channel brings viewers the music videos of arguably 2009's biggest global success stories.
The Style Network has programmes for girls that love to keep abreast with the latest fashion. One such programme is Glamour's 25 Biggest Do's and Don'ts. It premiered on Sunday March 1 (4pm local time) detailing do's and don'ts in the fashion industry. The programme will also feature disastrous don'ts such as the denim tuxedo and will give viewers some easy style advice so anyone can become a fashion do!
E! Entertainment's True Hollywood Story: Basketball Wives (Thursday March 18 at 9pm local time) will give inklings about what it's really like to be the wife of a big league basketball player. From falling in love to fending off obsessive fans, DStv viewers will be given a play by play account of the women in these sportsmen's life. It's no walk in the park trying to raise a family while your husband is playing a grueling 162 game schedule. With unprecedented access, THS: Baseball Wives will focus on the individual careers of the wives themselves and examine the unique challenges that go along with having a husband in the big league.
If you're the type of woman who loves sexy men and fast cars then you need look no further than SuperSport. On Sunday March 14 the 2010 Formula One season revs off from the Sakhir circuit in Bahrain. What makes this season special is that the world's most successful driver, Michael Schumacher, makes his comeback to the sport after an absence of three years. Continuing throughout March is all the action from the Southern Hemisphere toughest rugby competition - the Super 14, featuring some of the world's hottest rugby players.

Other must see programs this month undoubtedly has to be Oprah Winfrey Show and The Tyra Banks Show which airs on M-Net throughout March. The lovely ladies of Studio 53, every Sunday on M-Net, will bring audiences a host of fascinating story from all over the globe.
For those hankering after series, Spain on the Road on M-Net Series is a must! Premiering on Saturday 20 March (9pm local time), it is a 13-part travel-cook series featuring Gwyneth Paltrow and Claudia Bassols who set out to find the best of what Spain has to offer in food, art, history, music and everyday life.
